Norfund - the Norwegian Investment Fund for Developing Countries
Norfund invests in profitable and sustainable companies in some of the world’s poorest countries and most challenging markets. Our aim is to contribute to economic growth and poverty reduction, and we have the largest specialized team in Norway for investments in developing countries.
Norfund focus on four sectors in which our investments have the largest impact: clean energy, financial institutions, green infrastructure and scalable enterprises in agribusiness and manufacturing. We also invest in Private Equity and Venture Capital Funds that target small and medium sized enterprises in need of early phase or growth capital.
The main region for investment is Sub-Saharan Africa with regional offices in Nairobi, Ghana and Cape Town. Further, Norfund invests in selected countries in Asia and Central America with regional office in Bangkok and in San José.
The current portfolio of Norfund is NOK 26.9 billion and we are 130 employees.
