Investment Banking Summer Analyst

Position Description

The ten-week Summer Analyst Programme is an opportunity to experience the culture and atmosphere of Morgan Stanley and the Investment Banking and Global Capital Markets Division by taking on the responsibilities and functions of full-time Analysts. During your first week as a Summer Analyst, you will complete a comprehensive induction programme. You will spend the summer assigned to a specific group within either Investment Banking or Global Capital Markets, building basic skills in financial analysis, accounting and valuation while working on a wide range of domestic and international transactions. You will receive continued on-the-job training throughout the summer and benefit from working alongside experienced professionals on a variety of projects. We hire for Global Capital Markets and Investment Banking through the same process. Please note the deadline for applications is December 4, 2012. However, we do review applications on a rolling basis.

  • You have strong analytical and numerical skills that put you at ease with financial data.
  • You are driven to achieve results and will push yourself to perform well under pressure and against tight deadlines.
  • You are a committed team player with the ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities.
  • You can articulate complex ideas simply and summarise them effectively in your speaking and writing.
  • You are committed to excellence in your work and maintain high professional and ethical standards.
  • You thrive in an environment that encourages innovation and entrepreneurial thinking.
  • You must be a high-calibre undergraduate student in your penultimate year of study with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal English and a keen interest in the financial markets. In addition, the ability to communicate in a second language would be beneficial.
