Primary Metal Technology is the technology organization in the business area Primary Metal in Hydro. Hydro is world leader within aluminium production technology. In the technology organization, you will take part in developing next generation electrolysis- and carbon technology and provide operational support to our smelters in Norway and abroad. We are now looking for a material specialist to strengthen our Material Properties & Design discipline in Porsgrunn. Area of Responsibility •Planning and execution of research projects within materials used in primary metal production, especially lining materials for aluminium cells and anode raw materials •Contribute to the development of laboratory equipment and material testing in laboratory •Development, optimization and implementation of new technical solutions in Primary Metal’s smelters in Norway and internationally •Collaboration with suppliers, universities and external research organizations Qualifications We are looking for persons with •PhD or Master degree in material science, chemistry or related disciplines •Analytical mindset with good academic results and practical skills •Result oriented with strong problem solving skills.
