Primary Metal Technology (PMT) is the technology organization in the business area Primary Metal in Hydro. Hydro is world leader within aluminium production technology. In the technology organization, you will take part in developing next generation electrolysis- and carbon technology and support our smelters in Norway and abroad. Hydros climate strategy is to become carbon neutral by 2020, and PMT is working towards this by reducing energy consumption and emissions. We are now looking for new employees to strengthen our ambitious, international technology organization. Graduates, as well as engineers with some experience, are welcome to apply. Area of Responsibility Several teams shall be strengthened within the fields of electrolysis, cell design, mathematical modelling, process control, anode production and materials technology: •Planning and execution of research, innovation and development projects •Contribute to development, optimization and implementation of new technical solutions into Primary Metal’s smelters in Norway and internationally •Take part in delivering technology to Hydro’s future investment projects •Collaboration with suppliers, universities and external research organizations Qualifications We are looking for persons with •PhD or Master degree within relevant areas such as: Light Metal Production, Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Process Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Cybernetics, Materials Science, Physics •Analytical mindset with good academic results and practical skills •Result oriented with strong problem solving skills.
