SEB in Norway is looking for three trainees to join our global Trainee Programme for the departments Shipping Finance, Transaction Services and Project, Asset & Export Finance. The start date for employment will be in the beginning of September 2017.
SEB’s International Trainee Programme has the ambition to recruit young and talented applicants who are given the opportunity to build a unique platform and develop into future leaders or specialists at SEB. The trainee programme runs for one year and comprises of three parts:
A common component of various courses, an individually designed component of visits and internships and on-the-job training. During the year you will get a fantastic opportunity to build an extensive network as you will visit and work in other business units and spend part of your time abroad. You will also be joining a group of 24 trainees globally and visit several of our sites. We more than encourage applicants with all backgrounds.
Requirements:
• Academic Master’s degree in business, finance, engineering or equivalent
• Graduating within the academic year or worked for less than three years since graduation
• Fluent in one of the Scandinavian languages
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Sound academic results

Shipping Finance
As a Trainee in Shipping Finance you will be working with financing of acquisition and construction of ships and offshore rigs for the oil and gas industry. Based in Stockholm, Gothenburg, London, Singapore and Oslo, Shipping Finance delivers world-class global finance for ships and off-shore drilling operations. Our shipping clients are based primarily in northern Europe, but we also serve clients in the Far East and North America, and selectively in other parts of the world. The Oslo team is globally responsible for shipping finance in the offshore sector.
The shipping and offshore drilling industries present unique challenges – high capital requirements, frequently volatile markets and essentially mobile assets that require special financing structures. As part of our team you’ll work with and learn from leading experts of Shipping Finance. Our team members have extensive shipping background as well as originating and structuring experience and high understanding of the industry business challenges.
Project, Asset & Export Finance
As a Trainee in Project, Asset & Export Finance (“PAEF”) you gain substantial insights in Project Financing and Acquisition Financing primarily within Renewables, Infrastructure and Oil & Gas. PAEF is responsible for generating transaction ideas, the transaction structuring, the internal credit risk analyzing and return optimization. In addition PAEF is responsible for the transaction risk throughout the life of the financing. PAEF works across several industries and counterparty types (Infrastructure funds, PE funds, Corporates) and the learning curve for new team members is usually very steep. SEBs PAEF team is the Nordic leader in several of the segments covered.
Transaction Services
As a trainee in Transaction Services you will work in a team advising some of the market’s largest and most successful companies on Working Capital Management solutions. During the trainee period you will meet clients and learn about products and services within the areas of Cash Management, Trade Finance and Receivables/Supply Chain Finance. As a trainee you will get the unique opportunity to participate in the process of digitalization of the products and services within our area.
