Summer Interns to Nordea Markets 2017
Do you want to know what it entails to work in financial markets?
We offer an exciting opportunity as a Summer Intern in Nordea Markets, where you will get to know the fundamentals of capital markets from working closely together with experienced analysts, sales managers and traders within foreign exchange, interest rates and fixed income markets. You will get interesting and challenging analytical assignments which will give insight into the inner workings of a markets operation.
As a Nordea Markets Summer Intern you will also be part of our Summer Academy which is designed to give you a solid introduction into our different product areas, access to a vast database of e-learning courses for all areas of banking, and you will be part of our Nordic case competition.
Our Summer Intern program is a talent program with the primary focus of giving you a steep learning curve and a proper understanding of what working in Financial Markets entail. We need highly talented people on board and now we offer you an opportunity to join our great team of Summer Interns.
The position we offer
As a Summer Intern you will spend 8 weeks at Nordea’s trading floor in Oslo. You will be given challenging assignments related to; the foreign exchange (FX), interest rates and fixed income markets, and get access to highly qualified resources and colleagues.
Your daily work will include:
- Preparation of quantitative and qualitative analysis within all our main business areas
- Enhancement and challenging our current framework and analysis
- Close integration with senior employees whom will guide you through the different assignments
- Involvement in day to day activities within the FX, Derivatives and Fixed Income teams, providing you with a broader insight of how our different business lines operate
- Development and support of various presentations, reports and analysis models
The qualifications you need
We are looking for a young talent with a brilliant mind and personality. One year after the Summer Internship you will complete an academic degree at Master’s level, preferably related to finance, with excellent results, and have a genuine interest in financial markets. You have high ethical standards and integrity, and a constant drive to develop your competence and commercial understanding. You are confident, self-driven and intellectually curious.
Things tend to get busy at our office, so to succeed you must thrive on working in a high-pressure environment and be able to assemble your highest effort and dedication throughout all processes attended.
Also, we expect you to embody the following qualifications:
- Positive mind-set and an outgoing personality
- Ability to manage several assignments simultaneously
- Self-driven and engaged
- An analytical mind-set
- Goal-oriented
- Be able to work in teams as well as individually
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, MS Excel in particular
- Fluency in Norwegian and English, both written and oral, is mandatory
The position requires a permanent work permit in Norway.
As a Summer Intern in Nordea Markets you will:
