We are looking for
A First Year Analyst to join our Nordic team (Stockholm/Oslo/Helsinki/Copenhagen) starting September 2020. We are looking for someone who strives for professional development. If you enjoy challenges and want to develop your career, we offer a high level of responsibility as well as an inspiring team and committed colleagues who empower you to grow. We offer you an inclusive work environment where you will contribute to our success.

About us
Loan Capital Markets (“LCM”) plays an active role in complex financing arrangements.
Loan Capital Markets supports both the large client teams in Corporate and Institutional Banking (“C&I”) and the client teams within the Danske Bank group’s commercial Banking division with specialist bankers located across the Nordic region focusing on origination of loans within Corporate Loans, Leveraged Finance, Real Estate Investment Banking, and now also expanding into ESG related Projected Finance and Infrastructure financings. LCM also includes our Loan Agency team in Copenhagen and Stockholm and our Loan Syndications team in London, and is supported by Loan Management and specialists in C&I Legal. The client scope ranges from multinationals to mid-caps.
LCM has in recent years shifted its business model from predominantly traditional participation-style and bilateral lending towards a more Capital Markets oriented business model with loan underwrite-to-distribute and bridge financing to capital markets take-outs. For the last few years Danske Bank has gained a top-3 position in the Nordics and in 1H 2019 Danske Bank was the leading Underwriter and MLA of Nordic syndicated Loans according to Bloomberg League tables, ahead of several international investment banks and regional commercial banks.

Your role and the First Year Analyst Programme
You will create presentations for corporate clients, private equity funds and other potential borrowers. You will also make strategic, financial and cash-flow analyses, including evaluation of due diligence materials. Your work tasks will also include assessment of debt capacity and capital structure alternatives, preparation of internal presentations (to e.g. business and credit committees) as well as drafting and negotiation of term sheets and loan documentation. We also prepare materials for investors in syndicated loans. You will learn and deepen your understanding and experience in complex financing arrangements.

To succeed in LCM, you should have excellent analytical skills, and a positive can-do attitude. You have a passion for working in a dynamic and ambitious environment, and you are independent, proactive, result oriented and a quick learner. It is also important that you are a team player and have excellent communication skills as you will be in touch with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis. Fluency in English is a requirement as we operate in an international environment. We work in a competitive market where things can get hectic from time to time – it is therefore important that you are able to perform well under time pressure. Additionally, competences in Excel and PowerPoint is critical as well as a high level of IT proficiency.

The First Year Analyst-programme consists of three learning modules and the opportunity for two short-term postings. The programme offers a chance to build a useful network within the bank, and is an excellent way to get to know our organisation. In addition, the rotation opportunities enable you to broaden your knowledge and skill set, to give you a wider understanding of our business and add new perspectives to bring back to your original desk.
