ROEST seeks a highly motivated person for the position as a product development engineer. We are looking for someone who can be an integral part of our development team, working on cutting edge technology for the coffee industry. Responsibilities / This is your job

• Make significant contributions to design, development and validation of new products
• Work closely with our development and production team to solve problems and establish best practices
• Using Solidworks to model and analyse concepts, as well as other tools to facilitate and expedite the design process as needed
• Delivering on and understanding the basics of project management, risk assessment, design for manufacture and assembly, problem solving techniques
• Research materials and engineering solutions
• Assist in producing and testing prototypes
• Provide technical support to customers and internal teams on new products when needed

Qualifications / This is you

• Ideally educated to degree level in Product Design/Industrial Design/Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
• Previous experience in product development
• Experience with a variety of materials and manufacturing processes (injection moulding, CNC, fabrication, die casting etc.)
• Previous experience in 3D CAD modeling
• Ability to cooperate as part of a dynamic team and perform as part of a group before your individual contributions
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Who we are

Our vision is to make premium coffee accessible to everyone. To succeed we are going to challenge several parts of the coffee value chain – from production to roasting and brewing. We have launched our first product, an award-winning professional sample roaster for quality control. Our next product is under development and now we need the right person to help us finish it.

ROEST is developed and produced in Norway, but our market is global. We have produced over 500 coffee roasters sold to customers in more than 50 countries around the world. Our team is also international, represented by several different nationalities.

Location

Our office is based in Bryn, Oslo, where we also develop and produce our products.

Profil

Our company is based on Sverre Simonsen's master thesis in mechanical engineering at NTNU. As part of the thesis Sverre made a coffee roaster. Now 8 years later we have sold 500 units to customers in more than 50 countries. We have also collaborated with two master thesis at NTNU out of which one is already a supplement product sold with our roaster. 

Our vision is to ensure that premium coffee is accessible to everyone. To succeed, we are going to challenge several parts of the coffee value chain – from production to roasting and brewing. Besides continuously working to improve our current product will we launch our next product by the end of 2021. 

ROEST is developed and produced in Norway.
