Graduate 2022 - Renewables

As graduate at Equinor, you’ll be joining 20,000 colleagues delivering oil, gas, wind and solar power to 170 million people worldwide. By 2050, we aim to become a net-zero company and deliver the energy the world needs without contributing to global warming. It’s one of the defining challenges of our time and attracting and developing the brightest minds will be critical to our success.

The position

Our Corporate Graduate Programme is aimed at master’s or PhD applicants from both technical and non-technical backgrounds. To be eligible you must have graduated or be able to graduate by the end of 2022.

You'll join us on a 2-year programme that includes rotations of 3-12 months across functions, business areas or locations. We can't guarantee where each rotation will be, but wherever you land, we'll provide you with the tools and the experience required to develop into a specialist in your chosen field. This includes access to a mentor and a buddy, learning sessions to get to know our business, and plenty of opportunities to network and share experiences with your peers.

Equinor's Renewables (REN) business area reflects our long term goal to complement our oil and gas portfolio with profitable renewable energy. We are on track to become a major player in the global offshore wind business. In parallel, our ambition is to become a market-driven power producer from multiple renewable energy sources (solar, onshore wind and energy storage), with a significant position and capabilities in several power markets by 2030. We also have a growing renewable portfolio within research, development and technology implementation, venture capital investment and strategy and business analytics.

A wide variety of different roles and disciplines. Some examples are:

  • Research and technology development for further improvement of offshore wind, solar, energy storage and energy systems.
  • Accessing and developing renewable energy projects until financial investment decision:
    • Commercial analysis and power market insight with focus on utility scale onshore renewable energy such as solar and onshore wind, together with energy storage and power trading.
    • Perform analysis to develop the business case for new investment projects, and participate into evaluating new business development opportunities.
    • Support due diligence and execution of business development projects.
    • Engage and collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders, who are often based in several locations and markets.
    • Provide commercial support to origination and project development projects within renewables:
      • Support and co-ordinate grid connection agreements, lease agreements and offtake contracts
      • Provide business case updates and value improvement initiatives within the project.
