Hystar is a newly established and highly innovative spin-off company from SINTEF, one of Europe’s largest independent research organizations. We specialize in high-performance PEM electrolysers for large scale green hydrogen production. Green hydrogen has a central role in shaping a sustainable energy future. We at Hystar believe that the full potential of renewables can only be realized by large scale energy storage and the use of hydrogen in heavy duty transportation, maritime sector and in industrial processes.
We are seeking two ambitious and passionate students to join our team as summer interns. One of the students will be working primarily with business modelling and pricing strategies, the other will have tasks within data-driven production planning and supply chain analyses.
Business Analyst Internship
This internship position will focus on business modelling and pricing strategies for our PEM electrolyser system. This work will include the building of quantitative models and to conduct qualitative analyses. Several potential modelling approaches exist, and Hystar is currently using and developing models (mostly written in Julia or Python) both for business simulations and techno-economic assessments. In collaboration with the analysis team, the summer intern will be able to continue the development of these models or make an altogether new model if that is better suited. In addition to the modelling work, the intern is also expected to conduct in-depth business analyses of selected fields within hydrogen applications.
Lean Manufacturing Systems Internship
This internship position will focus on testing various lean manufacturing approaches for our PEM electrolyser manufacturing line to come. The work could include digital modelling and potential quality controls needed to ensure a best possible manufacturing flow. Tasks within data-driven production planning and conducting supply chain analyses is also expected. Candidates that also have done some form of vocational training are encouraged to apply (this is not a prerequisite).
General Information
Key findings and results from both positions shall be presented to Hystar’s CEO, CTO and CPO, and as part of Hystar you will have the opportunity to impact the future of the company. You will furthermore get first-hand experience within the hydrogen sector and help create a more sustainable future.
Students with strong academic backgrounds, along with the ability and interest to explore the rapidly growing green hydrogen market will be our ideal candidates. In addition to this our ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
The duration of the internships are 8 weeks (between June and August 2022), and we are flexible in terms of start-up date and vacation. Salary in accordance with Tekna’s recommendation. Further collaboration through e.g., Project and Master Thesis work will be considered for the right candidates. Hystar is expecting to grow over the coming years, and there might therefore also be opportunities for trainee or graduate positions.
