About the position

We need you to join our small and engaged team developing cutting-edge exoskeletons. You will have the responsibility and opportunity to work on electronics and embedded and control software, but also work with and learn about robotics, human-robot interaction, and mechanical product development. We develop our product closely with users and customers, and you will work in a design thinking process, where user participation, prototyping, and testing are central.  Vilje Bionics is in an exciting development phase, and you get the opportunity to shape your role in the team.

You will also have a central role in further developing the start-up Vilje Bionics to become a major Norwegian actor in medical technology. You will get the opportunity to travel and represent Vilje Bionics at fairs and conferences for medical aids, as well as visit customers and users.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Circuit board development, production, and testing

  • Development and testing of embedded software

  • Design of control systems

  • Work in the interface between mechanics, robotics, and electronics.

  • Develop and follow up work processes in circuit board development and software development

  • Development of human-robot interactions

About you

You must have a higher education degree (MSc/BSc) in engineering (cybernetics, robotics, electronics, or another relevant engineering discipline). It is an advantage if you have experience with circuit board development, embedded software development, or design and implementation of control systems, but it is not a requirement. We have a great focus on personal development, in Vilje Bionics you are going to jump into new tasks and learn to master what you are trying to do.

We are looking for a colleague who is interested in medical technology and wants to work in a company where your job makes a difference in other people's lives. We are looking for you who are:

  • Engaged:  You commit to the company’s vision and mission and want to make an extra effort for the team’s success.

  • A team player: You can work with others to find exciting opportunities and good solutions. You contribute where it's needed, help everyone work better, are not afraid to speak up about issues, and want to become a better team player yourself.

  • Independent and a problem solver: You dare to take on a challenge, are not afraid to embark on tasks you have never done before, and are not afraid to fail. You can quickly familiarize yourself with how to do things. You will find your tasks and seek help from colleagues and externals when needed.

  • Proficient in writing in English: You communicate and write neatly in English. It is an advantage if you also can speak and write in Norwegian, but it is not required.
