About the role

The squad is a part of the Odds Tribe which offers popular pre-match and in-play trading services, used by over 200 customers in 83 different sports and 750,000 events worldwide. The services are fully automated and ready for direct customer use over API’s and web interfaces. The client can control their sportsbook in web interfaces, configuring everything from event and odds creation to market monitoring and result confirmation.

As a Java Developer, you will be a part of a Squad who work with live products that the bookmakers use to monitor and manage their odds and include various features to automate this process. The solution also houses various tools that bookmakers use to compare their odds to the rest of the market, like an overview of competitors’ odds, weighted averages, suggested odds, etc. The team is also responsible for creating a new portal, which will serve as a platform to allow individual Squads and Tribes increased freedom and autonomy to manage their frontends. The current focus is on the above, but once complete the team can return to creating interesting, sticky, and novel features for our customers.

In your role, you will take in the back-end team in further development of our services by participating in the system architecture's design, development, integration, and end-to-end tests.

We are a full-stack team with 9 developers located mainly in Oslo and Warsaw. We are structured as a squad in the context of Spotification. Supported by an agile coach, the team is continuously improving their ways of working. Our tech stack includes Java, Kubernetes, AWS Elasticache, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, Apache Helix, Spring, Microservices, CI/CD++.

We are looking for

  • Relevant education
  • Good skills in Java
  • Knowledge of and preferably experience with microservices
  • Preferably experience with several of the technologies in our stack
  • Good communication skills in English
