Nordic Semiconductor´s R&D capacity is expanding, and we are looking to recruit a Design Engineer or Computer Engineer to join a new team with responsibility for the Analog Tool Chain. You will take part in developing and supporting the Analog design-flow and methodology. The team will work with optimizing usage of advanced IC design tools, user support, programming/scripting. Tasks that involve analog design and layout will also occur. We seek a person with a passion for automation/programming/scripting to accomplish an efficient work environment within design and programming in linux.

The Wireless Group at Nordic Semiconductor is an international team of highly educated, exceptional individuals from diverse electronics, mathematics and physics design and development backgrounds. We work to grow Nordic´s portfolio and impact, developing all the analog and RF circuits for our proprietary BLE SoCs. We are a dynamic and vibrant team, focused on innovation to maintain and strengthen Nordic´s position as the number one BLE SoC provider in the world.

Key responsibilities
The job involves a range of activities which may vary over time. On a regular basis, your areas of responsibility include:

  • Specification of tools, implementation, and rollout of new tools
  • Optimization of CAD tools and work environment
  • Development of tools related to design
  • Provide support to our designers with CAD tools issues or work environment problems
  • Maintain technical support contact with EDA vendors
  • Documenting custom tools, how-to’s and procedures

Qualifications and skills

  • M.Sc. In Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar
  • Programming skills in either of Python, Perl, Java, C or C++
  • Interest in Analog Circuit design or similar
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken 

Other desirable qualifications

  • Analog IC Design experience or education
  • Experience with version control solutions like git, perforce, subversion
  • Experience with linux/unix environment
