We are looking for talented front-end developers to join our growing team in Oslo. In Oliasoft you will be working with one of Norway’s most interesting, innovative, and fast-growing technology company. 

Oliasoft develops, sells and distributes advanced SaaS products for planning and construction of oil and gas, Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and geothermal wells. Our first product, Oliasoft WellDesign, which is an engineering software for oil and energy industry, was launched in the autumn of 2020. The product is business-critical for the oil companies and is an important piece in realizing a digital value chain. We work closely with major Norwegian and international players, such as Equinor, Shell, Chevron and Lundin to develop the software and have commercial agreements with several energy companies. Oliasoft was established by industry experts in 2015.

Oliasoft is building the next generation engineering software for the oil- and energy industry, with rich interactive 2D and 3D user interfaces, making use of highly performant simulation engines (CFD, FEM etc.). In addition we also want everything to look beautiful, snappy and fun to use.

Our software is delivered as a cloud-based software, with our front-end being React based SPAs/PWAs in the browser communicating with the server using JSON REST based APIs. Behind the scenes, we combine our front-ends with highly performant simulation engines running server side in the cloud. We are very diverse as far as development equipment goes; we have developers on Windows, Macs and Linux.

The team consists of 55 highly skilled employees with knowledge from software development, math, physics and the oil and gas industry. The common denominator is a passion for innovation and a desire to deliver high quality products that helps the customers.

Oliasoft WellDesign, has been very well received in the market, and we are now growing rapidly. We are therefore looking for a passionate Front-end Software Developer, who wants to be part of developing software that makes a difference.

What you will be doing:

• Mostly front-end work (JavaScript/TypeScript, React/Redux, Jest/Cypress)
• Writing calculation and simulation engines that can both run client-side and server-side (in Node.js)
• Depending on your background we may also appreciate some help with lower-level high-performance numerical code (C/C++,C#, Matlab/R/Numpy/Octave/Julia), or DevOps (infrastructure, build- and deploy pipelines, Gitlab, Webpack/Babel)

What we are looking for:

• Higher education from relevant field
• Know HTML, CSS (Sass/Less), and JavaScript by heart
• Experience with at least one JavaScript framework (React, Vue, Angular, Knockout, Backbone, or similar)
• Familiar with industry-standard tools (Git, Npm, Bash, Lint, Mocha etc.) and development methods (TDD, CD/CI, Scrum etc.)
• Experience with any of these is a plus: Three.js/WebGL, Docker/Kubernetes, TypeScript, .NET core
• Be curious by nature
