Job description

We are currently in the process of scaling up our applications engineering team, and are looking for a talented and ambitious, recently graduated (or soon-to-graduate) candidate to join our team. The applications engineering team is working with both technical and commercial perspectives, where understanding of Hystar’s products and customers’ perspectives are crucial to succeed.  Hystar uses quantitative models to perform techno-economic assessments to support sales and applications engineering processes. It is not expected that the candidates know how to program, but we do expect candidates to be interested in business analytics and using models to increase efficiency. Multidisciplinary work and collaboration with other departments – such as product development and sales – is to be expected. Experienced engineers are also encouraged to apply, and the position will then be shaped accordingly.

Information about the position 

We seek candidates with strong academic backgrounds within engineering and a commercial attitude. In addition, the candidate should be interested in exploring the rapidly growing green hydrogen market, as well as meeting the following criteria:

• Excellent academic results and having finished their MSc (alternatively BSc/MSc + MBA) by autumn 2022
• Our ideal candidate has a background from energy, electrical, mechanical, chemical or industrial engineering, or similar
• A commercial mindset and understanding of customers’ needs
• Excellent presentation skills
• Analytical, organized, structured, and efficient
• Able to work both in teams and individually
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and affinity with advanced technical products
• Ability to learn quickly, both within engineering and business topics/fields
• Full working proficiency in English is required (working proficiency in additional languages is considered an advantage)
• Entrepreneurial spirit and prepared to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work in an international business environment
