OmniMod is a startup that develops state-of-the-art automation technology within the industry of logistics. Our main product is a modular system with multiple use-cases ranging from autonomous storage to sequencing and sorting of parcels. As such, product development requires input from many different disciplines, including hardware, software, and integrated electronics.
Since the start in 2020 at NTNU, the company has had rapid growth and is now a company with international ambitions. Although the company is still young, it has already proven its technology through a partner-financed project. The main functionality is there, but much work is still to be done. Therefore, the company seeks to scale up its team in order to reach set goals and ambitions.
Omnimod’s software is a modern solution mainly written in python and c++. Motion planning, control systems, computer vision, distributed systems, machine learning, and UI development are just some of the disciplines involved. The software contains an extensive suite of features that implement solution techniques from various disciplines. Seeking to expand and improve our product, new features are paramount. Additionally, we are constantly on the lookout for improvements to the existing software. Thus, many existing and potential tasks require attention.
Therefore, we are searching for a new software developer to bolster our ranks and help us meet and surpass our goals and ambitions.
As a software developer at Omnimod, you will have the opportunity to work with various challenges. You will be expected to be responsible for some, but not all of the following tasks:
Development, implementation, and modification of different procedures and algorithms for various exciting tasks, including object tracking and action planning.
Optimization of existing implementations to improve key performance metrics such as CPU and GPU usage.
Development of distributed systems
Maintenance of existing code and architecture.
Development and maintenance of the network stack, emphasizing security and remote maintenance.
Development and maintenance of interfaces with different third-party tools and solutions.
