Summer Internships 2023 – Electrolyser testing and data analysis

Based on a new and unique patented PEM electrolyser concept, Hystar is currently developing our next-generation PEM electrolyser to accelerate the deployment of large-scale green hydrogen production. Hystar is an innovative, fast growing, high-tech company, based at Høvik, just outside Oslo, Norway. The green hydrogen market is entering a period of rapid growth and Hystar has an ambitious growth ambition. We are currently in the process of scaling up our products and technology and are looking for a talented summer intern for 2023. The ideal candidates for Hystar’s summer internship program will graduate in 2024, but younger candidates with a passion for green hydrogen may also be considered. Electrolyser testing and data analysis Internship

This internship position will focus on building and testing next generation PEM electrolysers. The work includes hands-on construction of cells and stacks and later perform fully electrochemical characterization based on well-established testing protocols. The acquired results and data will be analyzed and interpreted in order to determine the performance and lifetime of the electrolyser.

Key findings and results shall be presented to the Hystar team, and as part of Hystar you will have the opportunity to impact the future of the company. You will furthermore get first-hand experience within the hydrogen sector and help create a more sustainable future.

Students with strong academic backgrounds, along with the ability and interest to explore the rapidly growing green hydrogen market will be our ideal candidates. In addition to this our ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Having finished their 3rd or 4th year by summer 2023
  • Background from engineering and strong interest in learning more about hydrogen
  • Responsible and with great appreciation for health and safety issues
  • Analytical, organized, structured and efficient
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and affinity with advanced technical products
  • Good communications skills in English

The duration of the internships are 6-8 weeks (between June and August 2023), and we are flexible in terms of start-up date and vacation. Salary in accordance with Tekna’s recommendation. Further collaboration through e.g., Project and Master Thesis work will be considered for the right candidates. Hystar is expecting to grow over the coming years, and there might therefore also be opportunities for trainee or graduate positions.
