As an intern you get a unique opportunity to contribute to the fund early on and to learn from top professionals. You will get a variety of development opportunities including team and individual projects, networking and a lunchtime lecture series. During the internship you will receive a full introduction to the organisation, with high exposure to and engagement with top management. There will also be social events and team activities. In our organisation, we nurture a culture where our employees have fun at work. 

What you will do

Interns will work on their own project within a specific department, either individually or in teams. Just a few examples of previous projects were “Debt funded M&A”, “Assessment of company climate risk”, “News GPT for corporate actions”, and “Analysis of the apparel retail e-commerce sector in Europe”. A dedicated manager will set your day-to-day tasks and guide you with your project. You will also receive a ‘buddy’ to support you in your role. At the end of the eight weeks, you will be given the opportunity to present your work to your team and senior managers. 

Our summer internship lasts for eight weeks between June and August 2025, and it is based in Oslo.

What you need 

We are looking for students from a range of different academic disciplines, who take initiative, are curious and have the desire to learn. You should demonstrate flexibility, be eager to work in teams, and be interested in an internationally focused job with a real purpose. 

We are looking for people with different mindsets and who are comfortable in taking risks. We encourage people from different socio-economic and minority backgrounds to apply. It is important to us that you can demonstrate an interest in the fund’s mission and mandate and how you think you can support this.

In your cover letter, we encourage you to describe what attracts you to the summer internship programme and why you look forward to working at NBIM. Specific examples of why you stand out as a candidate are always helpful.

Salary

This position offers a competitive annual salary of NOK 510,000.
